A extra special first birthday, the night before Christmas Eve

We helped our neighbour celebrate his very first birthday with the care it deserved.

Small details, warm colours, and the particular joy of marking a day that he won't remember but everyone else always will.

Because that's the thing about a first birthday! it isn't really for the baby. It's for the parents who made it through the year. For the family gathered around. For the photographs that will be looked at, years from now, when Liam is tall enough to look back.

We were glad to be part of it. Even on the busiest night of the year.
